Ladakh "High-Land" Trek

Single route, reserved for any walker who wishes to do so original and sporty, the discovery of ladakh region in North part of India, that endearing old maps called "Western Tibet or Little Tibet" and whose beauty is comparable to that of his great plateau. The crossing from east to west in the Himalayas of Ladakh and Zanskar is a journey very mixed, it is the strong contrast between the simplicity of everyday life and the golden wealth of the monasteries, but also the contrast violence between the arid peaks and passes and brilliant green oases valleys.

Arrival Delhi

Upon arrival meet to our representative, transfer to hotel near by the airport, for rest of the night.

Delhi-Leh (3520m)

Early morning take flight to Leh ETD 0640hrs on arrival at Leh meet to our local staff, drive to hotel rest of the time leisure for acclimatization. Afternoon short walk in the Leh market. Overnight at hotel.

Leh

After breakfast full day local sightseeing visit Shey, Thiksey and Hemis monasteries, afternoon walk till the Shanti Stupa, overnight at hotel.

Thiksey Gonpa, 18 Kms from Leh the most beautiful of all monasteries in Ladakh, belongs to the Gelukpa order. The Gonpa was first build at Stakmo by Sherab Zangpo of stod. Later the nephew of Sherab Zangpo, spon paldan Sherab, founded the Thiksay Gonpa on a hill top to north of Indus river in 1430 AD. There are sacred shrines and many precious objects to be seen there.

Hemis: 47 Kms from Leh on the west bank of the Indus, the monastery belongs to Dugpa Order, built on a green hillside surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, is hidden in a gorge. It is the biggest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh and is a must for visitors. Sacred musk dance are performed on 9th and 10th day of the Tibetan 5th month. During the Hemis Tsechu held in the year of the Monkey it is possible to see the sacred appliqué- work tapestry wrought with pearls the depicts the precious teacher Padmasambhava.

Shey Palace, The old summer Palace of the kings of Ladakh, Shey ( 15 km. From Leh towards Hemis ) was built more than 550 years ago by Lhachen Palgyigon, the king of Ladakh. Overnight at Hotel.

Leh-Alchi-Chilling

Morning after breakfast drive to Chilling, before take the right turn from the confluence Indus –Zanskar river, visit Alchi gompa, although there are a great many temples, caves and stupas built in Ladakh by Rinchen Zangpo, Translator, Alchi Choskor is the large and most famous of all of them. Alchi is situated at a distance of 67 Kms west of Leh, founded by Rinchen Zangpo, Translator, in 1000 AD. The sacred temples, to be seen there include the Principal one of the Rinchen Lhakhang, at Lotsa Lhakhang, the Jamyang Lhakhang (Manjusri temple) and the sumtsag Lhakhang. The main image is that of vairocana but there can also been seen the five Buddha Families together with their attendant deities, The paintings are not like the Tibetan style but rather they are executive according to the Indian tradition. Continue drive back till the confluence (Indus-Zanskar river) follow the Zanskar river up to the village Chelling, set the camp for overnight.

Chelling-Base Camp Dunduntse-la (4000m) 6 hrs trek

Morning commence ascending trekking towards the Pass, On arrival set the tent for overnight.

Base Camp Dunduntse-la (4860m)- Sumdah Chenmo: 6 hrs. trek

After an early breakfast start our trekking tour to Sumdah Chenmo, first part is little bit tough, the second part is descending till the camping side.

Sumdah Chenmo-Over Konzok la (4950m)-Another side, 6 hrs trek

After breakfast start the challenging trek towards B.C. of Konzok la. On arrival at camping side set the tent for overnight.

Base Camp of Konzok la - Hinju Hanupatta (3750m): 6 hrs.trek

Morning after breakfast commence trek to Hanupatta via Hinju village. Overnight at camp.

Hanupatta - Base Camp Sniguitse la (4980m) 8 hrs trek

Very early morning commence the trek to BC of Sniguiste la. Overnight at camp.

Base camp - foot of Yongma la (4700m) 5 hrs. trek.

Base - Yongma la 4700 m - Kanji 6 hrs. trek.

Kanji - Foot of Kanji la, trek 6-7 hrs

Base camp - Kanji la 5150m - Kanji Chu 7 hrs trek

Kanji Chu - Tashi Tonde – Rangdum (3560m) 7-8 hrs trek. End the trek

Rangdum - Kargil

After breakfast take our vehicle drive to Kargil, overnight at hotel.

Kargil-Lamayuru-Basgo

After breakfast commence further drive to Basgo, en route visit Lamayuru monastery, On arrival at Basgo check in local house, enjoy the local food, folk dance, song and wine “Chhang” Overnight at local house.

Basgo-Leh

Drive to Leh en route visit Phyang and Spituk gompa, upon arrival check in hotel.

Leh

Full day leisure for individual activities, overnight at hotel.

Leh-Delhi

Morning take flight to Delhi upon arrival transfer to hotel. Rest of the time free, after dinner transfer to international airport take onward flight.
